The brash, arrogant Enzo had a good thing going in NXT, where he was cheered by the fans. Then he went to the main roster and really failed to resonate with the larger audience. After numerous backstage incidents and unprofessional conduct, the last straw was a rape allegation (which has subsequently been dismissed).
Why WWE doesn't need him back: Enzo isn't a great wrestler, and his gift of gab doesn't cover up for his lack of skill. Add in the fact that his bad attitude got him kicked out of the locker room, and it adds up to a talent they no longer need.
