In 2006, the entire world came to know that he is battling against low-grade 2A lymphoma. Roddy underwent rigorous treatment over the course of the next few weeks that included twenty sessions – radiations and chemotherapy.
Three years later, in an interview with Milford Daily, he went on to talk about his treatment and recovery from cancer.
He was quoted saying,
“I beat it three years ago. In two more years, if it doesn't come back, I'm out of the woods. I'm strong right now. I'm in shape. In the morning I'm juicing two apples, two carrots, two celery, two beets, two ginger. I'm drinking that every morning to try to keep the cancer away. I've got a lot on my shoulders, but I've got the most beautiful family in the world.”
In 2016, ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Pier passed away in his sleep as a result of cardiopulmonary arrest, leaving an incredible legacy behind.

When it comes to pro wrestling, Shruti does not particularly remember the first match she watched. However, she recalls accompanying her brother and getting hooked when she saw The Undertaker – a fascinating wrestler that she, like thousands of others, believed in.
Her views on pro wrestling evolved as she grew older and understood the intricacies of the business. This allows her to appreciate those who dedicate themselves to the craft and, once in a while, it does become what it has always been touted to be – magical. Her favorite wrestler is Finn Balor due to his persistence.
When she is not working as a writer, Shruti loves to read, enjoy a good cup of coffee, and let Manchester City dictate her weekend plans.
