Mike Kanellis is one of the Superstars who has not really had the run in WWE that others had been expecting from him when he first signed with the company. Very soon after signing a contract with WWE, he opened up about his addiction issues, which saw him have to take time away to rehabilitate himself.

Even after coming back to television, he was put in an odd segment that did not really work, where he was humiliated by his wife Maria Kanellis. When that storyline went away, Kanellis went to 205 Live, where he has done a much better job and been a regular on the show.

However, there's a lot more Mike Kanellis is capable of. AEW has a lot of talented Superstars at the moment, and Kanellis would fit right into the mid-card of the company without almost any issues. Given his in-ring ability and the natural charisma of the Superstar, he might even have a good run if he was given the right push and he was placed against the right opponent.

For the time being, there's a lot of time left on Kanellis' WWE contract.
