Wyatt has an unfortunate record at 'Mania.
Wyatt has an unfortunate record at 'Mania.

WrestleMania has not been kind to Bray Wyatt. It seems like he would wonderfully perform his promos leading up to his matches with John Cena, The Undertaker and Randy Orton. But when it came time for the rubber to hit the road so to speak, Wyatt was always booked to lose.

Against The Undertaker, it was expected as the Phenom would rebound as he had lost his undefeated streak to Brock Lesnar the previous year. Unfortunately for Wyatt, he was the next opponent in line to face The Undertaker and his legendary record at the Showcase of the Immortals.

In the canon of the storyline with John Cena, it made sense for the hero to overcome the villain in that story. It was unfortunate that it lead to a loss of credibility for Wyatt but we wouldn't have The Fiend had he beaten Cena.

The one match that I would have had Wyatt win would have been against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 33. Wyatt had just won the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber the month before. But since the Viper had won the Royal Rumble and could challenge for the title at 'Mania, it was a natural pairing for the PPV.

What could have worked wonders, however, was having Wyatt retain over Orton. The Legend Killer didn't need another huge win at the Show of Shows whereas Wyatt could have really used it. The proof of that point is that Orton would lose the title to Jinder Mahal so quickly after winning it.
