#4 John Cena vs. Samoa Joe

We've wanted this match for years
We've wanted this match for years

It seemed like a match between Samoa Joe and John Cena, whose paths crossed in California very early on in their respective careers, had been just on the precipice of happening before WWE shied away from it. This year, it's time. Joe is bring primed for a big run, and Cena has stated that he doesn't intend to miss his first WrestleMania since he appeared for the first time way back in 2003.

The table is set for them to collide. Cena hasn't had a proper match since his clash with Rusev way back at WrestleMania 31 in 2015. That's 4 WrestleMania events in a row without a real John Cena match. He was injured in 2016 but did make an appearance at WrestleMania 32. In 2017 he teamed with Nikki Bella in a tag match against The Miz and Maryse, a match that only happened in order to allow them to create the proposal that followed. He spent most of the build to WrestleMania 34 calling out The Undertaker before eventually losing to him in under 3 minutes, and didn't have a match this year at all. Instead the WWE Universe was treated to the surprise return of the Dr. of Thuganomics when he interrupted an Elias concert.

This will be Samoa Joe's 4th opportunity to be part of WrestleMania, and the only match he's had was a one-minute squash over Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 35 earlier this year. It's high time for Joe to have his WrestleMania moment, and John Cena is a dream opponent. There's no reason that this match shouldn't happen.
