The New Day is seemingly close to breaking up amid tension growing between two of WWE's most beloved superstars. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods butted heads on this week's RAW on November 5. Their argument came on the same night general manager Adam Pearce announced a special celebratory episode of RAW.

Next week's RAW will be dedicated to the New Day to celebrate a decade of the popular stable. The group isn't complete without Big E, and he might be the one to stop Kingston and Woods from going their separate ways.

Big E hasn't been an active member of the WWE roster since March 2022, when he suffered a cervical spine injury. He fractured his C1 and C6 vertebrae and hasn't been able to compete as a result.

The New Day has continued without the former WWE Champion, who has made sporadic appearances for the promotion as a guest on panel shows. The future of the stable is looking untenable now, with Woods constantly edging towards a heel turn.

A Big E return could help fix the problems growing between his close friends. He is a former two-time WWE and five-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion with the New Day. This success is evidence he can use to explain why they should stick together.

Kofi Kingston and Big E enjoyed successful singles runs during the New Day's spell as a three-man stable. Kofi won the WWE Championship, while Big E also won the world title once and the Intercontinental Championship twice.

Xavier Woods, however, has yet to taste singles gold or be given a legitimate push as a singles star. He won the King of the Ring tournament in 2021, but this was at a time when wearing the crown didn't bring much prestige.

Thus, it's understandable from a kayfabe and real-life perspective that Woods wants to seek glory as an individual. His recent issues with Kofi have given off an air of jealousy that may point toward a singles-run aspiration for the star.

The duo lost to War Raiders on RAW this week after a backstage argument. They have struggled as a tag team recently and tension is growing ahead of New Day's themes special episode of the red brand.

Woods could make for an interesting heel if he were to break away from Kofi. He might even target the Intercontinental Title, although Bron Breakker, the current champion, is also one of RAW's top heels.
