WWE Creative stunned the WWE Universe by having the Modern Day Maharaja Jinder Mahal win the WWE Championship by defeating Randy Orton.
On the land of opportunity, Mahal won a six-pack challenge to become the No.1 contender for the WWE title.
Everyone expected the Viper to prevail over Jinder but WWE did the unthinkable by letting Mahal win the belt. He had a six-month-long reign on the blue brand before losing his title to the Phenomenal AJ Styles on a UK special episode of SD Live.
Mahal was then a part of a fatal-4 way match for the US Championship at WrestleMania where he pinned Rusev to win the US title.
The Indian origin superstar made a return to the flagship show and lost his newly won championship to the Charismatic Enigma Jeff Hardy on his first night.
