Damian Priest has been handling a lot in WWE right now as The Judgment Day's leader and the current World Heavyweight Champion. Tension in the group has been present for a while now, with hints that they could even overthrow the champion. Interestingly, one star who could replace him is his rival.
The Judgment Day hasn't been the most cohesive as of late under Damian Priest's leadership. Although they started strong earlier this year by having him win the World Heavyweight Championship, Rhea Ripley's injury and absence has been widely felt as the group grows more tense. However, The Archer of Infamy has to put all of this behind him first as he has to defend his championship against Seth Rollins next month at Money in the Bank.
During the PLE next month, The Judgment Day could be the one to decide who will be the champion and Damian's replacement by helping Seth defeat the champion and for him to join the group.
Looking at it, nothing long-term is still set for Rollins. As a RAW star, he can't go after Cody Rhodes right now who is on SmackDown, and he also can't challenge CM Punk since The Second City Saint is still focused on Drew McIntyre. Joining The Judgment Day could be something that could elevate his character for the time being.
Also, Damian getting kicked out of the group could lead to him turning face and finally feuding with his fellow teammate Finn Balor, who has also hinted about going after Damian and his title on RAW.
What plans does Damian Priest have for WWE SummerSlam 2024?
Although Damian Priest just defeated Drew McIntyre last weekend in the latter's home country, he already has to gear up for a couple more challengers: Seth in Money in the Bank and possibly Gunther at SummerSlam.
The Ring General defeated Randy Orton in the King of the Ring finals tournament and gained a chance to battle for the World Heavyweight title at SummerSlam. Despite the dominance of the Austrian star, Damian Priest is not fazed and "can't wait" to prove that he can defeat the former Intercontinental Champion:
"I'm the World [Heavyweight] Champ. I'm going to face Gunther at SummerSlam. Look, we all know how good he is in the ring. His IC title run was historic. So, I get it. I get the challenge that he is going to be. But again, please tell me I can't beat him. Please tell me I can't beat Gunther. Because I can't wait to shove that one down everybody's throats as well at SummerSlam."
It would be interesting to see what will happen next with The Judgment Day and Damian Priest in the coming weeks.
