Pro-wrestling is not everyone's cup of tea. Throughout the past several decades, wrestling has been a niche business, and its popularity has reached new heights since the advent of social media. Today, WWE has more than a billion social media followers.
Multiple celebrities have stated in the past that they grew up watching the likes of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, and some have even helped WWE garner mainstream coverage by appearing on the premiere shows. Let's take a look at 2 celebs who openly hate wrestling and two celebs who are lifelong fans of the great sport.
Celebs who hate wrestling
#2 Mia Khalifa
After finishing off a short career in the adult film industry, Mia Khalifa managed to stay in the limelight via her social media handles such as Twitter, and her huge fan following.
It all began when Mia commented on Ronda Rousey considering a career in WWE. She stated that Ronda Rousey's career will die in WWE. She went on to add that she didn't have a shred of respect for pro-wrestling and that she finds it embarrassing.
After receiving tons of backlash on social media for her scathing comments, Khalifa explained that she didn't hate wrestlers and people should not take everything seriously.
Mia's tweets received responses from a former wrestler, Hurricane Helms, and she went on to make a wrestling appearance to get on the fans' good side.
#1 Nancy Grace
Although not a legit celeb, this American television journalist is known for all the wrong reasons.
She is infamous for interrupting her guests repeatedly, always wanting to have the last laugh and treating guests with the utmost disrespect. When The Ultimate Warrior died in 2014, Grace picked up the story and weaved it around wrestlers' deaths due to steroid usage.
The drama only got worse from that point on as she invited WCW legend, DDP, to her show and they got into a heated exchange. Rumours began spreading around that WWE had blackballed Grace and a wrestler associating themselves with her in any capacity would be fired immediately.
The controversy died off soon, but one thing's for sure: we won't be seeing a current WWE superstar being interviewed by Grace on her show for a long time to come, or maybe forever.
Celebs who are wrestling fans
#2 Adam Sandler
Known for his famous comedy movies, Adam Sandler is big-time WWE fan, and some of his movies in the past have featured active wrestlers. The Big Show, Kevin Nash and The Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin, have starred in Adam Sandler movies.
Sandler was sitting in the front row at WrestleMania 21 and stood up in ovation when Hulk Hogan came out, in an incredible sign of respect for his childhood hero.
#1 Snoop Dogg
Ever since appearing at WrestleMania 24 in Florida, Snoop Dog has made countless appearances for WWE.
Snoop has even guest hosted Monday Night Raw once. He went on to save Hornswoggle from Chavo Guerrero.
At WrestleMania 32, Snoop Dogg rapped on Sasha Banks' entrance theme as she made her way out in front of 80,000 roaring fans. With Snoop's relationship with WWE at an all-time high, he's guaranteed to make several future appearances for the company.
