This Tuesday night, we witnessed one of the most shocking moments in SmackDown Live's recent history: after a "happy ending" with Rusev conquering the United States Championship, a bittersweet (and more interesting and unexpected) ending was waiting for us.
AJ Styles attacking Mr. McMahon will change The Phenomenal One's career as he enters 2019 with a new and fresh rivalry. It is assumed that these actions will pave the way to an AJ Styles match at WrestleMania 35 where he will probably face someone who belongs to the powerful McMahon family: Shane McMahon or Triple H. The man who shamed the Chairman cannot go unpunished.
#1 AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon
We could possibly experience the best match in the WrestleMania 33 card —according to Dave Meltzer's ratings, this was a 4-star bout— once again.
Shane O'Mac hasn't got any unfinished business with AJ Styles but now, after what happened on SmackDown Live, he would want revenge against the man who attacked his father and sullied the reputation of his family.
It was a fantastic contest in Orlando (anyone can't deny that) but would the WWE Universe be so invested in it again? I personally think there is a better alternative (in Triple H's words: "There's always a plan B").
#2 AJ Styles vs. Triple H
The Game, as the COO of the company and son-in-law of Mr. McMahon, now has something against The Phenomenal One.
This would be the most valid option as we could witness a dream match at the Grandest Stage of Them All. However, it is not sure that Triple H will be able to compete at 'Mania and, if so, he could face Batista, due to The Animal's blunt challenge during the Evolution reunion at SmackDown 1000. As of now, Triple H's storyline for WrestleMania is not very clear now.
WrestleMania 35 is nearly around the corner, so who do you want to take on AJ Styles on April 7th in the MetLife Stadium? Post your thoughts in the comments below.
