2 Reasons Why Becky Lynch's Injury Was A Blessing In Disguise

The Man came around to Raw on Monday Night with a goal in mind: get the upper hand on Ronda Rousey and send a message to the RAW Women's locker room ahead of Sunday night.

While it was certainly an iconic moment for the Smackdown Women's Champion, it was also bittersweet. Due to an errant strike by Nia Jax, Becky Lynch suffered both a broken nose and a severe concussion, ruling her out for her clash with the former UFC star.

It is a shame this happened, as many of us were looking forward to this match, but is there some positive to take from this? Here are a couple of reasons why that is the case.

#2 Sympathy for the Champ

Over the last couple of weeks, it seems as though Lynch has been undergoing a slight change to her character, acting less as the abrasive and controversial heel and more of the tough-as-nails, defiant anti-hero.

This is a welcome change for the fans, as she has been getting what I like to call Stone Cold heat, where no matter what the heel does they are always cheered. It stands to reason why WWE would finally cash in on her immense popularity while still keeping her edge.

Fans salivated at the idea of a match between two two champions, and it seemed like we were destined to get match of the night on Sunday. With this recent incident, fans have even more reason to back Becky, as she missed out on a prime opportunity to cement herself as one of the best in the business.

This means that when she inevitably comes back from her injury in a few weeks, support for The Man will be at an all-time high. Look for Becky's popularity to shoot up to heights the likes of which none of us would have ever imagined.

Let's be honest: As great of an opportunity it was for Lynch to face off against the hottest star in WWE today, while she herself is at the top of her game as well, it's quite unlikely that she was going to submit Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series.

If Ronda Rousey was able to defeat a borderline legend like Nikki Bella, it stands to reason why she would win against Becky Lynch. Granted, the match would have been phenomenal, but one can't help but wonder if Lynch's momentum would have been slowed down upon losing on Sunday.

Now, however, not only did she attack Ronda Rousey on her turf, she will face no consequence for it whatsoever. She keeps the credibility she built up on Monday and will not run the risk of losing it by being humiliated on pay-per-view at Survivor Series and thereby losing said credibility.

There have been rumors that their feud may continue onto the Royal Rumble, but for the time Becky has been saved from what could have been a disappointing result for fans of hers to watch.
