Bron Breakker successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship on Monday Night RAW after his victory over Ludwig Kaiser. It was the second time that Breakker beat The Imperium member, as he had also survived a Triple Threat Match against Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 30.
That said, what is now next for the reigning Intercontinental Champion? We take a look at three superstars who may step up and challenge him next.
#3. Omos could make WWE return after nearly nine months and go after the Intercontinental Championship
A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE
Omos has not been seen in WWE for several months. His last appearance was on April 5, when he participated in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in the final SmackDown before WrestleMania 40.
Nine months later, Omos hasn't appeared on RAW or SmackDown. However, RAW premieres on Netflix in three weeks, and a title opportunity could be the perfect opportunity for him to return.
Bron could have a conversation with RAW GM Adam Pearce about who he will take on next, with Pearce telling him that he will face a mystery opponent, who will be Omos eventually.
#2. Penta could make WWE debut against Bron Breakker
Penta left AEW a couple of weeks ago and has been in talks with WWE. It is very likely that he will end up signing with the Stamford-based company, even though it is unclear when this will happen.
Monday on RAW, WWE hinted at Penta's arrival with a clip that went viral and showed the number zero and a line. Fans were confident that this was a hint that the former AEW Champion was on his way to WWE, meaning that Penta could make his first appearance soon.
And what better way to do so than having a chance to become a champion in his WWE debut? Bron Breakker could appear on the RAW premiere on Netflix on January 6 and issue an open challenge, with Penta stepping up and challenging him to a match for the Intercontinental Championship. In that scenario, the former AEW star will join RAW as a face.
#1. LA Knight could move to RAW and go after the Intercontinental Championship
LA Knight lost to Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series: WarGames and dropped the United States Championship after nearly four months as a champion. It appears that this defeat was a way for WWE to get him out of the title picture so he would have the opportunity to move to RAW.
With the WWE Transfer Window now open, LA Knight could move to the red brand and go after Bron Breakker. Unlike Omos and Penta, he could interrupt a Bron Breakker's in-ring segment and set the stage for a title match or confront him backstage.
With Bron being a top heel and LA Knight having done a great job as a face, they could start a feud that will last weeks on RAW and premium live events, like Saturday Night's Main Event (January 25) and the Royal Rumble (February 1).
