Joe Hendry's inclusion in WWE programming seems to be one of the best moves in professional wrestling this year. After making regular appearances on NXT, Hendry has managed to become the center of attention. At NXT: The Great American Bash, he managed to register a win over Joe Coffey.
While this win puts Joe Hendry in a good place on NXT, there is a chance his happiness could suffer on the brand's episode tonight. On NXT, a two-time World Champion could make his debut and attack Hendry. The two-time champion in question is Josh Alexander.
For those unaware, Joe Hendry and Josh Alexander are involved in a feud on TNA. And with reports of Alexander potentially making an appearance on NXT, the chances of him coming out on tonight's episode and attacking Hendry seem great.
While the angle is speculative, if Alexander does end up appearing on NXT, he would be able to grab the spotlight. After all, whenever Hendry appears on NXT, he always manages to garner attention. Hence, taking out someone like that would only help Alexander steal the spotlight which would be extremely beneficial for him.
Joe Hendry once revealed an emotional story involving John Cena
Since making his WWE debut, John Cena has positively impacted several fans and wrestlers. Most people who have met the 16-time World Champion only have positive stories to share. One such man who had a heartwarming interaction with Cena is Joe Hendry.
During an interview with Denise Salcedo on YouTube, Hendry recalled speaking to John Cena over a call with the help of a friend. Hendry added that he spoke to Cena briefly.
Joe Hendry said:
"When I was 15 years old, there was a wrestling show. I'd never been to a live wrestling show before. I wanted to go, I couldn't go. My friend went, he got the VIP package and my phone rings, answer the phone. It's my friend Kyle's phone but the person that answered said, 'Yo, it's your boy John Cena.' My friend asked John Cena, 'Look my friend couldn't make it but could you call him?' And John Cena talked to me for 5-10 minutes while there was a huge queue at this VIP thing because my friend told him that I couldn't make it. So John Cena was the first pro wrestler I ever talked to." [15:30 - 16:08]
If Hendry appears on the main roster in the near future, there is a chance he might get to work with John Cena. After all, Cena is set to return to WWE for his retirement tour in early 2025.
