John Cena made a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 40 when he arrived to help Cody Rhodes against Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. Cena's involvement in the match was brief, but it ended with The Rock executing a Rock Bottom on The Doctor of Thuganomics. His last match was on the April 8 edition of RAW, where he helped Awesome Truth defeat The Judgment Day's Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh.

The 47-year-old has revealed that he hasn't hung up his boots yet, but he doesn't plan to wrestle past his 50th birthday. He added that the chances of him retiring before that milestone were higher. Keeping this in mind, the Cenation Leader will want to have his retirement match at the earliest, and Randy Orton is a great choice for The Champ's last match.

The 20-time champion [WWE Championship 10 times, World Heavyweight Championship four times, Intercontinental Championship once, United States Championship once, World Tag Team Championship once, WWE RAW Tag Team Championship twice, and WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship once] shares interesting history with The Face That Runs the Place.

The Randy Orton vs. John Cena rivalry could be equated to the Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock one. Interestingly, however, the duo have never had a singles match at The Show of Shows. The only time they've been in the ring together was in a Triple Threat Match with The Game at WrestleMania 24.

WrestleMania 41 could be a great platform for Cena to have his last WWE match. The Legend Killer taking on John Cena on The Grandest Stage of Them All would sell like hotcakes. WWE could even get creative and book a Career vs. Career match, creating an exciting scenario. Given Orton's surgeries and him possibly being on the last leg of his WWE career himself, putting their careers on the line would make sense.

Randy Orton expressed wanting a match against John Cena at WrestleMania

The Apex Predator has been a World Champion multiple times, having worked as both heel and babyface, and has achieved several milestones within the Stamford-based promotion.

However, The Apex Predator still has some things he wants to do before hanging up his boots. In an interview with WWE's The Bump, last year, Orton revealed that taking on Cena was one of them.

"I’d love to wrestle John Cena at WrestleMania. But those aren't my biggest goals. My goal is to never take one second of this for granted. That’s my number-one priority," said Orton.

Currently, Randy Orton is entangled in a feud with the Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline. Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes have joined The Viper in the battle against the new, ruthless Bloodline.
