Gulak looks to defeat the former #1 Contender tonight

Before the main event, it was announced that Lucha House Party will take on Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher next week.

Backstage, Cedric said that if Buddy Murphy wants the title that bad, he knows where to find him.

Kalisto vs Drew Gulak

Kalisto came out first, with the rest of Lucha House Party behind him. They did not follow him to the ring, however, as Kalisto looked to take on Gulak by himself. A video played of Kalisto stating that Gulak is no match for the Lucha House Party as Kalisto, Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado spun their noisemakers.

Gulak came out next with a bit more intensity last week. Gulak stated earlier in the night that last week he was at 20% and this week he's at 100%.

Kalisto and Gulak squared up, with Gulak immediately grounding Kalisto. Gulak forced him into a full nelson style pinning maneuver, with Kalisto breaking out at one. Kalisto got to his feet, almost forcing Gulak to the ground with a wrist lock. The two traded back and forth with wrist locks, but Gulak was able to maintain momentum, keeping Kalisto off his feet.

Every time Kalisto attempted to escape, Gulak would bring him back down with a takedown followed by headlocks and wristlocks. Kalisto finally broke free, but Gulak was able to avoid one of his hurricanrana attempts, outsmarting the Luchador. Gulak went to put Kalisto in the Single Leg Boston Crab, but the former Cruiserweight Champion escaped.

Gulak chased Kalisto into the corner, but the high flyer caught him with a stiff kick followed by a flying arm drag and hurricanrana combo. However, when he went for a dive outside, Gulak countered it, forcing Kalisto onto his knee. The Submission Specialist worked on Kalisto's right knee and left arm before putting him int he Gory Special.

Gulak moved Kalisto into a modified Boston Crab, but Kalisto reached the ropes.

During the match, it was announced Mustafa Ali would take on Buddy Murphy next week

Gulak continued to tear down Kalisto and toss him around the ring, hitting him with a clothesline in the corner. Kalisto broke out of the pin at two, and Gulak forced him into a modified bow and arrow stretch. Gulak worked it back into a Single Leg Boston Crab, but Kalisto broke out, kicking Gulak in the jaw. However, Gulak struck him with a stiff forearm, garnering a two-count. Gulak attempted to demask Kalisto, but Kalisto fought him off, forcing him to the outside.

Kalisto caught Gulak with a cross body to the outside, landing this time. Kalisto built up momentum and speed, disorienting Gulak. Kalisto continued to fly around Gulak, finally getting the upper hand in the match. Kalisto threw him into the ring, but Gulak broke out of the pin attempt. Kalisto went for the Salida Del Sol, but Gulak escaped. Both men traded pinning attempts, with both men breaking out at two.

The WWE Universe gave Kalisto and Gulak "This is Awesome" chants. Kalisto and Gulak traded strikes before the former champion hit Gulak with the basement hurricanrana. Before he could hit the Salida Del Sol, Gulak locked in the Gu-Lock, getting the submission victory.

Result: Drew Gulak defeated Kalisto

Gulak left the ring, wiping his hands of Kalisto. The rest of Lucha House Party went to the ring to help Kalisto back to his feet as Gulak waved to them from the ramp to end the show.
