This week’s RAW will be live from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, and word coming in from past weekend is that John Cena was injured during the European tour. WWE.com had earlier reported that John Cena suffered a leg injury during a 6 man tag team match involving Ryback, thus claiming that Ryback might have taken the initial step to claiming the WWE title. And John Cena tweeted after coming back to the United States that he wouldn’t be missing this week’s RAW. Is it just a part of a storyline, or did Cena suffer a legitimate injury? We will have to wait and find out.
Last week, The Shield defeated the team of Hell No and a returning Undertaker! The Shield have been booked to perfection (Not counting the live events), and they have been dominating the WWE and the entire roster. It will be interesting to see what is in store this week, and it’s a massive possibility that they will face and defeat team Hell No at Extreme Rules for the World tag titles. It’s for the best that the titles are taken off D-Bry and Kane, and put them on The Shield, and let them defend the titles under the Freebird rule (Which is, any 2 members of the faction can defend the titles). The Shield had taken out The Undertaker last week on SmackDown!, and you can be sure that they will continue to dominate on RAW.
Talking about being dominant, the feud between Henry and Sheamus grew intense last week, but none of the major SmackDown! guys could make it to RAW, as the SmackDown! taping followed RAW last week in London. Going into Extreme Rules, will the Celtic Warrior put down the behemoth and show just how dominant he is? Or will the world’s strongest man have the last laugh? And Orton is in a feud with the Big Show, but one has to wonder if the WWE will put Orton in the main event picture, now that Punk is out indefinitely, and John Cena is injured. Where does this leave Big Show? Will they face off one final time at Extreme Rules to settle the scores? That looks highly likely.
The craze of Fandango–ing will be significantly less this week, now that WWE is back in the United States, and will be visiting Ohio, which isn’t a hot crowd, traditionally. Jericho attacked Fandango last week, and this will leave Fandango infuriated. Will he get his revenge this week? Or will the former Lionheart get the upper hand once again going into Extreme Rules? This is one feud that is going great guns, and has the fans invested.
Last week, Tons of Funk and Rhodes Scholars shared the spoils, winning one match each. Will this feud ever come to an end? Rhodes Scholars deserve a much better feud, and will hopefully be in contention for a shot at the World tag titles. They will likely face Tons of Funk at Extreme Rules for one more match to end the feud, and it can’t be any sooner.
The feud for the World Heavyweight championship has been heating up between the champ and the two contenders. Swagger has clean victories over both Ziggler and ADR, and ADR looks to be losing steam heading into Extreme Rules. Will he get his redemption this week on RAW? Or will the former All American American get the upper hand once again? How will Dolph fare against two former World champions? Will AJ and Big E play any part in this feud? We will have to wait and see.
Talking about AJ, she is now (again) the number 1 contender for the Diva’s title. She will be going up against the Diva’s champion, Kaitlyn. Will AJ finally defeat Kaitlyn and win the women’s title? Imagine AJ and Dolph being the next ‘Power Couple’! That would be very interesting, and will certainly get my attention. The Divas division has become unimportant, but a good feud is all it takes for people to start noticing the Divas again.
With all said and done, the world will be waiting to see how Ryback replies to Cena’s AA on him last week. This is shaping up to be an interesting RAW, and if the creative plans ahead and gives out a half decent script, we’re looking at potentially one of the better shows this year. How will it shape up? We still have about 12 hours to wait and see!
