While two titles changed hands on RAW last week, the scenario was similar this week. Besides the 24/7 Title, the Women's Tag Team Titles also changed hands on the red brand this week. Considering we are just five days away from the Biggest Party of the Summer, it was surprising to see new Women's Tag Team Champions.
The IIconics won the Women's Tag Team Championships at the Showcase of Immortals but they rarely defended their titles. During their title reign, Bill Kay and Peyton Royce never defended the twin belts at a pay-per-view and they only faced two credible challengers. The IIconics had a big obstacle to overcome on RAW as they put the twin titles on the line against three other teams in an elimination match.
Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross and The Kabuki Warriors were the three teams who challenged The IIconics. Interestingly, The IIconics were eliminated first when Mandy Rose pinned Bille Kay. Subsequently, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross became the new champions by beating the Kabuki Warriors.
