3 Biggest things we could see on SmackDown this week - Unexpected return, Huge confrontation

The Blue Universal Championship
The Blue Universal Championship

This week's SmackDown comes live to us from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL. This will be the penultimate WWE show before one of the most anticipated pay-per-views of the year: Survivor Series. With Survivor Series on the horizon, this week's episode of the Blue brand is a must-watch.

Last week, some major developments happened, as The Fiend answered Daniel Bryan's Survivor Series challenge. The two will clash for the Universal Championship this Sunday. Baron Corbin continued to mock Roman Reigns, much to the dismay of 'The Big Dog.'

Moreover, Bayley and Sasha Banks were jumped by the women of NXT last week and it is fair to say that the SmackDown Women's Champion didn't like that at all. Also, WWE teased a potential feud between Shinsuke Nakamura and Braun Strowman for the Intercontinental Championship, after Bryan rejected the idea of joining hands with Sami Zayn and 'The King Of Strong Style.'

In this piece, we are going to take a look at the three biggest things that might happen on this week's SmackDown.

#3 Velveteen Dream returns, challenges The Miz to a match

The Velveteen Dream

It's pretty odd that we haven't had the privilege to see one of the most over gimmicks in NXT, Velveteen Dream in this whole invasion fiasco. The former NXT North American Champion has been injured since Undisputed Era launched an attack on him last month, but he could make a surprise return this week on SmackDown.

The Dream is a one of a kind Superstar and the WWE Universe has been eagerly waiting for his return. This week on SmackDown, we could see Dream interrupt another Superstar known for his stellar promo work, The Miz, and challenge the former WWE Champion to a match on the Blue brand.

If this bout happens, it will be another inter-brand dream match that the WWE Universe would love to see. Two brilliant performers squaring off just before Survivor Series is definitely what's best for business.

#2 Braun Strowman attacks Sami Zayn, challenges Shinsuke Nakamura to an Intercontinental Championship match

As previously stated, the company managed to give the WWE Universe a glimpse of what's next for Shinsuke Nakamura and his Intercontinental Championship during last week's episode of SmackDown Live. Last week, when Sami Zayn was trying to convince Daniel Bryan to turn heel once again and join him in a faction, Braun Strowman appeared. 'The Monster Among Men' and 'The King of Strong Style' then engaged in a stare down.

At Survivor Series, Nakamura will be involved in a Triple Threat Match against Roderick Strong and AJ Styles, but he could very well be challenged for the Intercontinental Championship before this Sunday.

Zayn said some things about Braun Strowman last week which may have triggered 'The Monster Among Men.' Therefore, it is quite possible that Strowman attacks Zayn during one of those backstage interviews and challenges Nakamura to an Intercontinental Championship match on next week's SmackDown.

This would be the perfect way to hype up the WWE Universe to tune in to next week' post-Survivor Series episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

#1 The Four Horsewomen come up against the MMA Horsewomen

This week on RAW, after Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair won their tag team match against The IIconics, Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir appeared and had a brawl with 'The Man' and 'The Queen.'

It's wouldn't be wrong to say that SmackDown's Sasha Banks and Bayley also have their differences with Baszler and her band of elite MMA athletes. In a bid to hype this Sunday's Survivor Series, we could see a confrontation between WWE's Four Horsewomen and the MMA Horsewomen. This would include none other than former RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey.

It would be great to see Lynch, Flair, Bayley, and Banks work together after quite some time. This has been a dream confrontation since the MMA Horsewomen joined WWE and the WWE Universe might get to see it this Friday.

Furthermore, this could possibly lead to an all-out brawl between the women from different brands and it would be great to see a full scale women's invasion for a change.
