#1 Vince McMahon books Kofi Kingston in a handicap match to earn a WWE Title opportunity
The more the things change, the more they stay the same. Kofi Kingston earned a shot at the WWE Championship at the Fastlane pay-per-view because of the amazing performance he put in the Elimination Chamber match.
Becoming the first African-American WWE Champion would have been a dream come true for Kingston, but that dream only remained a dream as the chairman, Vince McMahon, gave his opportunity to a returning Kevin Owens for the sake of a "box office" attraction.
At Fastlane, Daniel Bryan defeated Kevin Owens and Mustafa Ali (who was added to the match to make it a triple-threat) to retain the WWE title while Kingston was put in a handicap match against The Bar.
WWE announced on their website WWE.com that Vince McMahon will address Kingston tonight on Smackdown Live and probably explain to the world as to why he put Kofi in a handicap match instead of adding him into the championship mix.
I fully expect him to do the same tonight and put Kingston in a match where the odds are against him, but this time, it's for a shot at the WWE's most prestigious title. Let's tune in to SmackDown to see if that happens!
