With Money in the Bank approaching fast, WWE is building storylines for the show. SmackDown Live offered a remarkable episode last week, and the blue brand will be eager to continue the good run.
Kevin Owens continued to mock Xavier Woods and Kofi Kington after turning heel. As a matter of fact, Owens and Kingston had a huge brawl last week. Becky Lynch and Bayley locked horns for the first time on the main roster when the former defeated the latter. Roman Reigns was put in a handicap match, but the Big Dog overcame the B-Team.
The male and female participants for two Money in the Bank Ladder matches were revealed last week, and they will represent the blue brand. The men's ladder match participants Finn Balor and Ali faced Andrade and Randy Orton in a tag team match as the team of Balor and Ali won the bout. Asuka and Kairi Sane defeated a local team while Lars Sullivan continued his destruction.
The upcoming SmackDown Live episode will take place at the KFC YUM Center in Louisville, Kentucky. WWE already announced that Shane McMahon would crown the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions after the Hardy Boyz relinquished the twin belts. Ali will face Andrade in a one-on-one bout while a huge Six-Woman tag team match is set to take place.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Here we discuss three things WWE could be planning on SmackDown Live this week.
#3 Asuka and Kairi Sane could be announced the opponents of IIconics at Money in the Bank
Kairi Sane has taken the Women's Tag Team division by storm after arriving on SmackDown Live. The Pirate Princess has become a new tag team partner of the former SmackDown Women's Champion, Asuka. Apart from defeating the local team last week, Sane pinned Peyton Royce a couple of weeks ago.
It has not been a fruitful run for the IIconics since they won the Women's Tag Team Champions at the Showcase of Immortals. Bille Kay and Peyton Royce have been losing bouts every week after winning the twin belts.
It is no secret that Kairi Sane and Asuka will be the next challengers of the IIconics. With Money in the Bank just two weeks away, the match could become official this week. Considering the impressive run of Asuka and Kairi Sane, the Japanese duo might win the twin belts at Money in the Bank.
#2 A triple threat Tag Team Match to decide the SmackDown Tag Team Champions
The Tag Team division of the blue brand is in serious jeopardy following the knee injury of Jeff Hardy. Due to an attack from Lars Sullivan, Jeff Hardy will be out of action next few months. As a result, Hardy Boyz had to relinquish the twin belts last week.
Apart from Jeff Hardy, the New Day member Big E also got injured which ruled out New Day from the Tag Team Title picture. The blue brand had The Usos, Sanity, Aleister Black and Ricochet, and The Club before the Superstar Shake-Up. Unfortunately, the scenario altered after the Superstar Shake-Up. Only four tag teams are left on SmackDown Live, and the remaining tag teams are Nakamura and Rusev, The B-Team, Heavy Machinery, and The Colons.
A large number of fans have forgotten that the Colons are still part of Vince McMahon's billion dollar company. They have not been on the TV for a long time while the other teams are regular performers. We might witness a triple threat Tag Team bout, and the winner could be crowned the SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Among the three tag teams of the blue brand, Rusev and Nakumara have a bright possibility to win the twin belts.
#1 Becky Lynch could attack Charlotte Flair during the Six-Woman Tag Team match
A colossal women's tag team match was announced for SmackDown Live this week. The team of Bayley, Carmella and Ember Moon will take on Charlotte Flair, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. It will be interesting to see if Bayley, Carmella and Ember Moon manage to compete together as the three women will tussle each other in the women's Money in the Bank Ladder match.
It is no secret that Charlotte Flair is challenging Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women's Title at Money in the Bank. The company decided to renew the feud after the Show of Shows. Although the fans are tired of seeing the two women tussling each other in the squared circle, they always manage to produce stupendous matches.
Charlotte assaulted Lynch after latter defeated Bayley last week and The Man will be ready to answer. Therefore, the double champion could interrupt the women's tag team match, and she could attack the eight-time women's champion. It will fuel the rivalry for the SmackDown's Women's Championship as they are set to collide after few weeks at XL Center.
