Set to take place at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, the upcoming episode will witness Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defend his title against Solo Sikoa in a Steel Cage Match to start proceedings. The show will also feature other interesting bouts and potentially some returns.

However, in this article, we will look at changes WWE can make to SmackDown after it premieres on USA this week:

#3. WWE can make SmackDown a 3-hour program

After premiering on the USA Network this Friday, they can consider making the blue brand a three-hour show. However, instead of the entire duration of that time being wrestling content, the first two could be the usual, while the final hour could be SmackDown LowDown.

This strategy is currently being followed on Monday Night RAW. With the red brand reduced to being a two-hour program, immediately after its conclusion, fans get to witness RAW Talk Live. The Friday night show can also follow this pattern and see if it works for them.

#2. Debut a new stage

Another change post-premiere could be debuting a new stage. Whether people want to agree or not, a stage does add a lot to professional wrestling. After all, even today, so many WWE fans remember the iconic SmackDown Fist, which the brand used to have back in the day.

Similarly, this time around, WWE could create yet another iconic stage that will be remembered for a long time to come. This change on the blue brand could also lead to RAW following suit, thus benefitting WWE and elevating the product overall.

#1. Introduce a secondary women's title

When it comes to the singles titles on SmackDown, women only have the WWE Women's Championship to compete for. The men, however, have the Undisputed WWE Championship and the United States Championship. To even the odds and create additional excitement, the blue brand could introduce a secondary belt.

This move would not only add to the excitement, but also increase competition which will be good for the promotion. Once this is implemented on the Friday night show, RAW could also follow the same pattern.

It will be interesting to see if any of these changes take place after the show premieres on the USA Network this Friday.
