Ricky Steamboat is one of the greatest wrestlers to ever step foot inside a WWE ring. His WrestleMania 3 encounter against "Macho Man" Randy Savage is regarded by many as one of the greatest wrestling matches in history. Steamboat had a series of battles with Ric Flair during his prime, which has now gained cult status.

His son, Richie Steamboat, signed a contract with WWE in 2009 and was sent to Florida Championship Wrestling. Fans had seen him on TV several times while he was a kid. He appeared at WrestleMania 4 and was dubbed as The Little Dragon. He also appeared in WCW later when Ricky Steamboat was signed with the promotion.

Richie had a 4-year stint in WWE, where he competed on the NXT and FCW brands for the entirety of his career. During a match with Kassius Ohno, Richie injured his back. This was it for him in regards to a pro-wrestling career and he was released by WWE a year later. Ricky Steamboat confirmed in 2015 that his son had to give up on wrestling due to his injury.
