Several female WWE Superstars have embraced motherhood over the past few years. Some even brought them on the road as they performed, including Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey.
While multiple mothers, such as Jade Cargill and Candice LeRae, are now active on the current WWE roster, a few have temporarily stepped away from the squared circle to start a family. Two former Women's Champions became mothers last year. Meanwhile, a 31-year-old superstar is currently pregnant with her second child.
Here's a look at three current WWE Superstars who are currently absent on maternity leave:
#3. Former WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Carmella
Carmella joined the Stamford-based company in 2013. Nearly six years later, she started dating fellow colleague Corey Graves. The couple tied the knot in April 2022. In May 2023, Graves and Carmella announced they were expecting their first child.
In November 2023, Carmella gave birth to the couple's son. However, she has yet to return to WWE. Her last appearance was on the March 13, 2023, episode of RAW.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, the 36-year-old disclosed that she would love to make her comeback. The former SmackDown Women's Champion also revealed that she had suffered an injury during labor and delivery called "drop foot."
"I would love to return. Obviously, I’m so immersed in this motherhood world right now, but honestly, I actually have an injury from delivery. I have a lot of nerve damage that happened, and my foot is kind of nonfunctional right now. It’s something that I never knew could happen during labor and delivery, but I have two herniated discs in my back, and that’s correlated to my foot," she said. [H/T: WrestleZone]
In another interview with The Nikki & Brie Show, Carmella stated that she would like to return to the ring to prove to herself that she could overcome "this insane experience of labor, delivering, pregnancy, and my body is completely different from the inside out" and still do what she loved.
#2. Valhalla
Like Carmella, Valhalla (FKA Sarah Logan) is married to a WWE Superstar. She and her husband, Erik of The Viking Raiders, tied the knot in December 2018. After getting released in 2020, the former Riott Squad member became pregnant with the couple's first child. She gave birth to their son, Raymond Cash Rowe, in February 2021.
Valhalla returned to the Stamford-based company at the 2022 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. The 31-year-old went on maternity leave in April 2024 after announcing her pregnancy with her and Erik's second child in a social media post that has now been deleted.
"November of 2024 NEW ROWE BOY INCOMING We are so unbelievably happy. 🥰," she wrote.
#1. Former WWE RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss
Since her arrival on the main roster, Alexa Bliss has been one of the top female superstars. The Goddess is a multi-time WWE Women's Champion and has worked with top superstars, including Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, and Charlotte Flair.
Bliss married musician Ryan Cabrera in April 2022. In May 2023, the couple announced they were expecting their first child. The former RAW Women's Champion gave birth to their daughter, Hendrix Rouge, last November.
Even though Alexa has been absent from WWE TV since January 2023, Bliss has dropped several hints at a potential return to the Stamford-based company over the past few months. Many fans and experts even predicted she could return as part of the Wyatt Sicks because she was a former associate of Bray Wyatt. However, that did not happen.
It will be interesting to see if the talented star returns to television in the coming weeks.
