Finn Balor became the first ever Universal Champion after defeating Rollins at Summerslam 2016. During the match, he suffered a shoulder injury and was forced to relinquish his title the next night on Monday Night Raw.

He returned to the company next year on the Raw after WrestleMania and since then hasn't been able to gain the momentum he once had. From the past few months, the WWE isn't pushing him as the main event star and continuously adding him into meaningless storylines and feuds. It will be surprising if he wins any world title by the end of this year.
