Tonight, WWE will present NXT from the 2300 Arena, which originally served as the ECW home. Ahead of today's episode, there is a lot of anticipation about the action fans will get to see on the developmental brand. While Shawn Michaels and his team have booked some great segments, there is a chance that some major returns could take place.
In recent times, the Stamford-based promotion has been closely working with TNA Wrestling, and the Nashville-based promotion plays host to various ECW legends. Hence, it won't be surprising to see these legends appear on tonight's edition of the black and silver brand.
In this article, we will look at three ECW legends who could make their return on tonight's edition of NXT:
#3. Matt Cardona could make his WWE return on NXT
The erstwhile Zack Ryder's 15-year tenure with WWE came to an end in 2020. However, he did not let this setback affect him and quickly reinvented himself as Matt Cardona in the Indies. Since then, he has achieved a lot of success.
In 2024, the former Intercontinental Champion made his return to TNA, and he now serves as an integral part of the promotion. Hence, it wouldn't be surprising to see Cardona, who had a decent career in WWE's version of ECW, make his return to the 2300 Arena tonight.
#2. Tommy Dreamer
When you think of ECW, you think of Tommy Dreamer. Throughout his professional wrestling career, ECW has been an integral part of Dreamer and vice versa. A one-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion, the Hardcore legend has left fans with countless memories.
And since Dreamer is currently associated with TNA, he is another name who could return to the place where he created so much history, the 2300 Arena. The return of a name like Dreamer would surely draw a huge pop from the crowd and those watching at home.
#1. Rhyno
Like Tommy Dreamer, Rhyno is another name that found a lot of success in ECW. A one-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion and a two-time ECW World Television Champion, Rhyno was recently inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, in a move that was loved by professional wrestling fans.
Since Rhyno's induction into the promotion's Hall of Fame was very recent, WWE can further give the veteran a platform by booking him to be a part of tonight's NXT. Like the names mentioned above, Rhyno too has wrestled a significant portion of his career in the 2300 Arena.
