Samoa Joe is the current US Champion but he definitely suitable to be the WWE Champion. Joe is an integral part of Smackdown Live where was traded last year. Joe won the US Title last week when he dethroned R-Truth. He put the title on the line at Fastlane, and he retained the belt successfully.
Joe was a prominent name in TNA before he signed for Vince McMahon's billion dollar company. WWE signed him in 2015, and he attained plenty of success in NXT. Joe had memorable bouts with Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, and many more. As a matter of fact, Joe became the first ever two-time NXT Champion.
Considering his success in the developmental brand, he was not equally successful after making his main roster debut in 2017. Joe pursued the Universal Title after arriving in the red brand, but he never held the belt. Moreover, Joe also chased the WWE World Title on Smackdown Live, but he could not win the prestigious belt.
Considering Joe's fluency on the mic and performance in the squared circle, he is highly deserving to win the WWE World Title. He could get a World Title shot after his current US Title reign.
