3 former winners who can return at WWE Money in the Bank

WWE Money In The Bank is set to go down on Saturday, July 6th from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.

Over the years the Premium Live Event has seen several stars climb the ladder and retrieve the briefcase that enables them the opportunity to cash in for a championship of their choosing at any time for up to a year.

Many top current WWE stars have already qualified for the men's and women's matches, including Chelsea Green, Carmelo Hayes, IYO SKY and Jey Uso.

A show this big also has opportunities for injured stars to make a return either in the matchup itself or just to appear in front of the crowd. Therefore we are going to look at 3 former winners of the Money In The Bank ladder match who may make their return on July 6th.

#3 - WWE is money once again

One performer that fans have been dying to see back on-screen or in the ring for over a year now is Carmella.

The 36-year-old has been inactive since early 2023 after she went on maternity leave which saw her and WWE ring announcer Corey Graves welcome their first son in May of last year.

During a recent interview on the Nikki & Brie show, the Princess of Staten Island stated how determined she is to get back into the ring.

"Of course. I miss the fans. I miss performing. I fell in love with that and have been doing it for 11 years. More than anything, I want to prove to myself, 'I can go through this insane experience of labor, delivering, pregnancy, and my body is completely different from the inside out,' but I'd love to go back and prove that I can. No one else, just to myself."

Carmella is no stranger to the Money In The Bank Premium Live Event having become the first woman to win the case in 2017. She would then go on to cash in on Charlotte Flair to become the SmackDown Women's Champion.

#2 - A multi-time Women's Champion returns

Like Carmella, another top star who has been away due to welcoming her first child is the former RAW and SmackDown Women's Champion Alexa Bliss.

The 32-year-old has not wrestled since January of last year when she faced off against Bianca Belair at the Royal Rumble for the RAW Women's title.

Her first taste of major singles success came in 2018 after she won the Money In The Bank ladder match, she would go on to cash in on Nia Jax later that night. Speaking to ESPN, Bliss gave a candid response about what it meant to win the career-changing case.

"Being able to climb up the ladder, after the match that these women [and I] had just put on, and be the one to grab the briefcase was amazing." Bliss added: "Honestly, I kind of drowned out the crowd in that moment because it was a two-hour later cash-in. To be able to have that moment, and to pin Nia Jax to become a three-time Raw Women's Champion was just amazing."

Bliss' return may soon be imminent after she recently posted a cryptic post on Instagram of her in her ring gear as well eagle-eyed fans noticed a shot of her in the background on one of WWE's production trucks during an episode of RAW.

#1 - It's a New Day for WWE

A performer who exudes positivity and charisma is the former WWE Champion Big E. The powerhouse of the New Day and the winner of the Men's Money In The Bank ladder match in 2021 has been out of action for over 2 years after he suffered a horrific neck injury on SmackDown.

Despite looking in great shape and seeming to be in a great headspace, Big E is still yet to make his in-ring return.

During a recent interview with CBS Sports, Big E revealed that many legends of the business who have also gone through similar injuries have been gracious enough to reach out to him to offer both advice and words of encouragement.

"I've been so thankful for so many of the guys I grew up loving and watching as a kid, so many legends who wanted to reach out and share what they went through when they had their neck injuries. I'm so grateful to all of them for following me to ask questions and their offering advice has been helpful, too."

Although he may not be medically cleared as of yet, Big E has shown in recent months that he can be a reliable hand and voice for WWE when it comes to the company's pre-shows. Therefore do not be surprised if fans see Big E in a similar role in Toronto on July 6th.
