Under Triple H, the WWE roster has undergone many changes, with superstars being released or leaving the company after their contracts expired. Stars from other wrestling promotions have joined the Stamford-based company, moving to NXT first.
Especially on NXT, the addition of star female wrestlers like Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and Zaria has brought a lot of excitement to fans. On the other hand, there are a few superstars who Triple H shouldn't have let go, and in this article, we take a look at three of them.
#3. Bobby Lashley
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
Bobby Lashley left WWE in the summer following an injury that sidelined him after his victory at WrestleMania 40 alongside The Street Profits.
Even though he had a decent run with The Pride, he parted ways with WWE amid frustrations with his booking. In an interview with The Lame Guys podcast, he called out the creative team for the role he had been given, saying that he was doing pretty much nothing.
"Pull me off of WrestleMania the first time in my entire career. Just put me in the back where I was in the background just wearing a suit, doing nothing. I was like, all right, you guys can put me in the back and I wear a suit. I’m gonna get some slick a** suits to put on. I was like, any time you guys give me an ounce of time on TV, I’m gonna look like a fricking star and that’s what it’s about," Bobby Lashley said. [H/T Post Wrestling]
Eventually, he moved to AEW, where he reunited with MVP and Shelton Benjamin, who also left WWE a few months ago.
#2. Baron Corbin
Many were surprised by Baron Corbin's departure, as they expected him to eventually get a push on SmackDown.
However, his contract expired, and Triple H decided to let him go. The former United States Champion took to social media to agree with a fan's comment that WWE made a mistake with his departure.
After a 12-year career in WWE, Baron Corbin moved from RAW to NXT and then to SmackDown. Even though his time on NXT was productive, he didn't get a push and stayed without a storyline for a long time.
Instead, his former NXT tag team partner, Bron Breakker, got a push from Triple H and WWE, becoming a two-time Intercontinental Champion.
#1. Triple H and the team released Jinder Mahal
Jinder Mahal left WWE after eight years. His second stint (2016-2024) was more successful than his first one (2010-2014), and eventually, he became a WWE and United States Champion.
Despite doing a great job as a heel, Triple H and WWE eventually had different plans and released him. During an episode of Talk is Jericho, the former superstar looked back at his last years in the promotion.
"The last two years, I wasn’t doing much. I was managing Indus Sher. In a way, they had retired me. They told me I wasn’t an active wrestler anymore, which was kind of weird. I think maybe they just wanted the focus to be on Indus Sher. I don’t know, something fresh, something new which I get because I had become very stale," Jinder Mahal said. [H/T Wrestlingnews.co]
Jinder Mahal could be a useful mid-card wrestler, as he was performing well as a heel, but Triple H and WWE decided to move in a different direction.
