Alberto Del Rio achieved almost everything there is to achieve during his first run with WWE between 2009 and 2014, winning the Royal Rumble, Money In The Bank, WWE Championship (x2) and World Heavyweight Championship (x2).

During his second run, which began in October 2015, he won the United States Championship on two occasions and was part of the League of Nations, but he was unhappy with his position on the roster and was released from his contract in September 2016.

Despite well-publicised issues with WWE, Del Rio has mentioned multiple times in interviews throughout 2018 that he still has a good relationship with Vince McMahon and that he would like to have one final run with the company.
