3 free agents from last year who are not in the WWE Draft pool in 2024

WWE Draft
WWE Draft 2024 will start from tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown

We are just a few hours away from WWE Draft 2024 night 1. For those who might not be aware, the Draft will kick off from tonight's episode of SmackDown and will continue on the upcoming episode of Monday Night RAW.

Additionally, WWE has already disclosed the rules and Draft pool for both the red and blue brands. The pool incorporates major names such as Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and more.

However, in this article, we will focus on the free agents from last year's Draft who are not part of this year's WWE Draft pool.

#3. Omos and MVP are not part of this year's WWE Draft pool

Following last year's Draft, Omos and MVP were announced as free agents in the company. This allowed them to appear on both brands. However, in this year's Draft pool, both MVP and the Nigerian Giant are notably absent.

The absence of Omos and MVP is indeed a surprise for many fans as they expect Omos to get used by the company under Triple H's regime.

The former RAW Tag Team Champion wrestled his last match on the April 5, 2024 episode of SmackDown. Here, he participated in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal but was eliminated by a group of stars working together.

#2. Logan Paul is not part of the WWE Draft pool

In addition to Omos, Logan Paul was also designated as a free agent last year despite his absence from the Draft pool. However, this year, the Maverick is once again absent from the pool, but this time due to his status as the United States Champion.

For those who may not know, this year's Draft rules protect the champions of every brand except for the Women's Tag Team titleholders. As the United States Champion, the YouTube Sensation is already protected by the blue brand and excluded from the Draft pool of both RAW and SmackDown.

#1. Brock Lesnar is absent from the Draft pool

Brock Lesnar is surely the biggest free agent from last year's Draft who is notably absent from the 2024 WWE Draft pool. The Beast Incarnate's last appearance in the Stamford-based promotion was at SummerSlam 2023, where he suffered a loss at the hands of Cody Rhodes.

However, plans for Lesnar's return at WrestleMania XL were scrapped, resulting in his long hiatus from the company. Although Triple H confirmed Brock Lesnar's status within the company during the WrestleMania post-show press conference, the company has still chosen not to include him in the pool for the WWE Draft.

The absence of the Suplex City owner from the Draft is disappointing for his fans, as many expected the Beast to be part of it.

However, it will be intriguing to see how things unfold on tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown as Night 1 of Draft 2024 takes place.
