3 fresh feuds for Roman Reigns upon his return

It's no secret that Roman Reigns was destined for greatness from the very beginning. His arrival on the main roster as a part of the notorious faction, The Shield, was nothing short of impressive. The trio interrupted the WWE Title Triple Threat match at Survivor Series 2012, powerbombing the fan favourite Ryback on the announce table, and immediately making their presence felt.

The Shield wreaked havoc on the WWE roster, becoming one of the greatest three-men teams in the history of the business. Post the Shield's breakup, Roman Reigns became the breakout star and went on to win multiple world titles. He main-evented four WrestleManias in a row, including a win over The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33.

When Reigns announced that he's going to take time off to pursue his battle with leukemia, it came as quite a shocker to the WWE Universe.

Fast forward 2 months: Reigns is scheduled to appear on the upcoming Raw episode, to address his recovery and plans to come back to the squared circle. Additionally, it's being reported that Vince McMahon wants Roman Reigns to return before The Show of Shows. Let's take a look at 3 potential fresh feuds for Reigns upon his eventual return to the ring.

#3 EC3

A possible passing of the torch as the babyface of the company?

Ever since EC3 debuted on Monday Night Raw, he hasn't done anything worthy of note. A comedy segment on Alexa Bliss' talk show, "Moment of Bliss", followed by a loss to the Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose, didn't exactly do him any favours.

If Roman somehow manages to make his return sooner than expected, an up and coming NXT superstar like EC3 would be the perfect opponent for him. From what we have been seeing over the past few weeks on Raw, there doesn't seem to be a plan in place for the charismatic Superstar. A short term program with the returning Reigns, culminating in a match at WrestleMania 35, would immediately cement EC3 as a main event player. Reigns has reached a level of stardom where giving a rub to someone like EC3 at The Grandest Stage of Them All, wouldn't hurt him one bit.

#2 "The New" Daniel Bryan

Even though Daniel Bryan and Roman have faced off against each other in the past, it's worth noting that Bryan is nowhere close to the lovable underdog he once was. Ever since turning heel, he has transformed himself into a maniac whose concern for the environment and the planet Earth has turned him against practically every other human being.

Imagine the promos heading into their match, with Bryan berating Reigns for adopting a reckless lifestyle which contributed towards Mother Nature coming back at him with a disease. The amount of legitimate heat Bryan would get on this statement would result in some must watch TV.

This feud gives Roman with some additional time before coming back, as Bryan can lose his WWE title against Kofi Kingston at The Show of Shows (if Kofi's push is continued till WrestleMania), and then go on to kick off a fresh feud against a returning, white hot Roman Reigns.

#1 The Rock

There's some history that can play into this match

The WWE Universe has been clamoring for this match since a long time. The WWE needs to let Reigns come back as a disgruntled heel, who is disgusted by the fans who always booed him and never gave him a break.

A 4-week program between heel Roman and a returning Rock would mean nothing but money! The marquee match could add some much needed strength to the WrestleMania card, that's reportedly still in works.

The WWE Universe has made it known on multiple occasions that they absolutely can't stand a face Reigns. There couldn't be a better time to turn him heel and let him beat the tar out of his cousin at MetLife stadium. The Rock is an all time crowd favorite, and destroying him at WrestleMania would garner some much needed heel heat for Roman Reigns.

What are your thoughts on a potential Rock-Roman bout at the Grandest Stage of Them All? Yay or Nay?
