#1 Samoa Joe is clear to return and might align with babyfaces
Having skipped TLC, Rey Mysterio put the United States Championship on the line this week, facing a dangerous opponent like Seth Rollins. The match was confirmed last week when Rollins and AOP assaulted the current US Champion.
Consisting of two incredible performers in the ring, it was a great match, yet it didn't have a proper ending owing to interference from AOP. When Rey Mysterio was getting ready to hit the iconic 619, AOP got involved and took out the champion that ended the match in disqualification.
Subsequently, AOP dragged Mysterio to the commentary table, where they were stopped by the temporary commentator, Samoa Joe. Even though Joe tried fighting the AOP, the numbers game proved too much for him, and he was put through the announce table.
Joe's last match was in the King of the Ring tournament, where he was eliminated in the semi-finals. After suffering an injury, the two-time US Champion has been out of action for a while, but his involvement with AOP hinted that he might be ready to make a comeback. With that in mind, he is expected to return as a babyface, because he stood up against the heels. Hence, the likes of Rey Mysterio and Kevin Owens might find a new partner in Samoa Joe.
