Survivor Series is just around the corner and we are sure in for a treat as one of the best shows of the year is ready to take us into the final few days of the year.

Survivor Series is a much-anticipated event because it gives fans a taste of Brand War where we see wrestlers from Raw and SmackDown go head to head.

Even though the same wrestlers have fought each other before while on the same brand, the kick that they are fighting on different brands makes the event all the more enjoyable.

Just like the years before, we will see Champions take on Champions in a battle for brand supremacy and the traditional 5-on-5 tag team elimination matches which gives us ten or more of the best wrestlers in the business competing in one ring under one roof.

With that said, there are some interesting facts about Survivor Series 2018 which we have dug up for our readers. Take a look at three interesting things that you must know before the start of the event.

#3 Third Survivor Series team picks in a row

This Survivor Series will see two well-known wrestlers return to the ring in the Men’s Traditional Survivor Series Elimination match for the third consecutive year.

Shane McMahon, the commissioner of SmackDown Live, will compete in his third consecutive Survivor Series event in the 5-on-5 elimination match.

He was part of Team Smackdown in 2016, 2017, and will be a part of the match again in 2018 after he won the World Cup at Crown Jewel and returned to in-ring competition.

Team Raw will also see a member of its roster return for the third year in a row for the same match. The superstar is none other than The Monster Among Men Braun Strowman who has been a part of the elimination match for three consecutive years now as he has failed to win any championships in the WWE.

Strowman helped Team Raw win the match last year by scoring three eliminations of Team SmackDown wrestlers and was the last man standing next to teammate Triple H.

The event will also see one wrestler compete in the Survivor Series for the third year in a row but in completely different matches.

Seth Rollins competed in Survivor Series 2016 as a part of Team Raw alongside Braun Strowman, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, and Roman Reigns. Rollins scored one elimination in the match, that of WWE Champion AJ Styles with the help of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, and was eliminated second-last by Bray Wyatt after falling to an RKO by Randy Orton.

The 2017 edition of Survivor Series witnessed the return of The Shield to face SmackDown’s best faction The New Day. The match lasted over 21 minutes and was one of the highlights of the show.

Survivor Series 2018 will once again host Seth Rollins in a completely different match. This time he will engage in a Champion vs Champion match against Shinsuke Nakamura. While Rollins is the current Intercontinental Champion from Raw, Nakamura is the United States Champion from SmackDown Live.

This will be the third time the face of SmackDown Live will walk into Survivor Series as a champion. The superstar in the spotlight is none other than AJ Styles.

AJ Styles will be competing in his third Survivor Series pay-per-view as the WWE Champion from the SmackDown Brand.

On the Survivor Series 2016 edition, Styles was the captain of Team SmackDown for the tradition 5-on-5 elimination tag team match. Team SmackDown also consisted of Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, and Shane McMahon.

Styles was eliminated sixth in the match by Seth Rollins from Team Raw. The match saw Team SmackDown win the bout as Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt were the last two remaining men who stood tall.

Survivor Series 2017 saw AJ Styles take on Brock Lesnar in a rather competitive match. The match was the traditional Champion vs Champion bout which had AJ Styles as the WWE Champion from SmackDown while Brock Lesnar was the Universal Champion from Raw.

The match lasted over fifteen minutes and was one of the longest matches we’ve seen Brock Lesnar compete in since a while, and this showed that Styles was somewhat a match for The Beast.

This year again Survivor Series will have a rematch of the 2017 match, as AJ Styles has remained the WWE Champion since that match while Brock Lesnar lost his title at SummerSlam 2018 but won it once again at Crown Jewel.
