#2 Elias as Heel: Best For Business, or a misstep?
People love Elias. They love him regardless of whether he acts as a heel or babyface. But after turning Elias babyface when it became apparent that the fans could not get enough of him, did WWE make a mistake by turning him heel once again?
Personally, I am split on this matter. On one hand, it makes sense to push him as a babyface after his fan base just kept growing week after week. On the other hand, heel Elias is what people fell in love with in the first place. The way he insulted each and every town on Monday Night RAW every week felt more like a compliment really. In simpler words, people jeering Elias as a heel is equivalent to fans chanting "You Suck" during Kurt Angle's entrance.
In this bizarre world of Professional Wrestling, booing a wrestler can also be perceived as a sign of respect, and while I can't say much for Elias vs. Jeff Jarrett on last night's RAW, one thing that will always remain the same is the WWE Universe's undying love for Elias, and whether they choose to project that love as cheers or jeers all depends upon his act each week.
