The previous episode of Monday Night Raw, which also happened to be the go home episode before Stomping Grounds, received mixed reviews from the fans. While it was certainly an improvement after an ordinary show from the previous week, some segments were still underwhelming and needed improvement.
The show had its moments, especially the main event featuring Seth Rollins clashing against Daniel Bryan and the fatal 5-way match between Ricochet, Braun Strowman, Cesaro, The Miz and Bobby Lashley to determine the number 1 contender for the US title were two standout matches of the show.
However, the segment featuring Becky Lynch and Lacey Evans was a tad underwhelming and could have been booked better. Also, Paul Heyman's promo too seemed repetitive. However, WWE did well hyping Stomping Grounds.
Scheduled for this Sunday, Stomping Grounds will be live from the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington. A lot of matches are repetitive (read: rematches), and the PPV looks too predictable.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
However, a lot of feuds are expected to conclude on June 23. Thus, expect WWE to lay down the breadcrumbs for a few new feuds on the upcoming episode of Raw. Also, with Extreme Rules being the next PPV, expect WWE to start building up for the event as soon as the upcoming week.
So to feed all our curiosities for the time being, we take a look at 3 interesting things which could happen on Raw following Stomping Grounds.
#3 Bray Wyatt returns to the WWE ring
Amidst the WWE ship facing new highs and lows each week, one thing which has been constant is the impeccable quality of Bray Wyatt's Firefly Fun House segments.
Yes, for the last couple months or so, Bray Wyatt has been constantly delivering with his quirky yet amusing gimmick. And given how things went during the last segment of the Firefly Fun House, a potential return for the Eater of Worlds to the WWE ring could be on the cards on the upcoming episode of Raw.
It could not only spice up things on the red brand, but would also draw a lot of eyeballs if WWE does not mess this one up.
#2 Samoa Joe decimates Ricochet
Samoa Joe is scheduled to defend his US title against Ricochet at Stomping Grounds. However, there have been speculations that Joe might drop his title to Ricochet on June 23.
However, personally, I feel, WWE is not likely to put this feud to bed this early by handing a clean win to either of the participants. Thus, Joe successfully defending via a controversial finish could be on the cards to prolong the feud until at least Extreme Rules.
Well, come what may, this feud is not wrapping up anytime soon. Thus, expect Samoa Joe to attack Ricochet on the upcoming episode of Raw to set up a rematch for Extreme Rules.
Samoa Joe versus Ricochet has the potential to be a mouthwatering feud. Joe's intensity against Ricochet's agility could prove to be a real treat to the eyes. Also, Ricochet could learn a few tricks of the trade from the experienced Coquina Clutch master.
#1 Brock Lesnar lays waste to Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns
With Shane McMahon likely to be the guest referee for the Rollins vs Corbin clash at Stomping Grounds, a potential Roman Reigns' involvement (given his rivalry with Shane) looks to be on the cards.
Furthermore, Brock Lesnar's involvement in the match seems like a no brainer. Thus, Reigns could show up during the Rollins vs Corbin clash to even the odds, and he could take out the heels by joining forces with Rollins this Sunday.
Given Reigns' involvement, Lesnar could appear the following night on Raw in a foul mood to wreak havoc. He could team up with Shane and Corbin to decimate both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
This would not only serve WWE's purpose of bringing Roman in the title picture but would also lay down the breadcrumbs for a potential triple threat match between The Big Dog, Rollins, and Lesnar for Summerslam 2019.
