The upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown will take place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, this Friday, July 5, just one day before the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, which will take place at the same venue.
WWE is finalizing the match card for the upcoming premium live event, and some last-minute changes could likely take place. With that in mind, we take a look at three possible changes to the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event that could be announced during the upcoming edition of SmackDown.
#3. Having a rematch for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill recently lost the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship to Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre in a Triple Threat Match that also involved Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark at the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event in June 2024.
Belair and Cargill attempted to win their qualifying matches and make it to the 2024 Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match but came up short and, likely, they will not participate in the upcoming premium live event.
Still, the Stamford-based promotion could surprise fans and set a rematch for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship at Money in the Bank 2024. This could happen should Dawn and Fyre appear on SmackDown and interfere in Belair and Cargill's tag team match against Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell.
#2. Bayley to have a title match at Money in the Bank
Bayley successfully defended her WWE Women's Championship at Clash at the Castle 2024, where she defeated Piper Niven. Since then, it appears that the plan is for her to sit out Money in the Bank 2024 and not appear in the event.
Still, this could change after Blair Davenport confronted the reigning Women's Champion on SmackDown in a backstage segment with Naomi, who will compete in the 2024 Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Following their backstage confrontation, WWE hinted at a feud between Bayley and Davenport and it would not come as a surprise if the Stamford-based company announces a title match for Money in the Bank should Davenport target and confront The Role Model this Friday on SmackDown.
#1. Stipulation added to the Six-Man Tag Team Match (Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton vs. The Bloodline)
The six-man tag team match at Money in the Bank will see the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes team up with Kevin Owens and Randy Orton to take on any three members of The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu).
All seven superstars are expected to be on SmackDown this Friday for a final possible segment, which could include either an in-ring confrontation or a backstage brawl.
Fans can expect things to get out of control, as it usually happens amid such feuds, so it would not come as a surprise if SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis adds a stipulation to raise the stakes for Money in the Bank 2024.
In that case, we could either have a Steel Cage Match to ensure no other superstar will interfere, or a No Disqualification Match, which could be a hint that there will be some outside interference.
