WWE has a plethora of prestigious championships for both male and female performers across RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. Each show has dedicated titles for men, women, and tag teams.
In 2024, Triple H and World Wrestling Entertainment introduced several new titles. In fact, five new belts were created, four of which were for female performers and one for male stars. The Men's Speed and Women's Speed Titles were made for the Speed program, for example. The current champions are Candice LeRae and Dragon Lee.
The other three belts created were mid-card titles for each brand. Fallon Henley is the Women's North American Champion, Chelsea Green is the Women's United States Champion, and the Women's Intercontinental Title is currently vacant. A new champion will be crowned in early 2025, however.
With so many new belts, fans might think no more are on the way. Despite that, there are signs and/or rumors hinting at other titles arriving soon, likely by the end of 2025. This article will take a look at three new belts that could appear on television within the next calendar year.
Below are three new WWE championships that may be introduced in 2025.
#3. The NXT Women's Tag Team Titles could and should be brought back
The NXT Women's Tag Team Titles were first introduced in March 2021. The first champions were Dakota Kai and Raquel Rodriguez. The belts were then unified with the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles in 2023.
Less than two years later, there are signs that point to the WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Titles returning. There has been a sudden emphasis on women's tag teams on the brand. This includes returning, new, and already established pairings and stables.
For example, The Unholy Union and the duo of Kayden Carter and Katana Chance have returned to their old stomping grounds. Gigi Dolin, Shotzi, and Tatum Paxley has formed a trio. Additionally, Zaria and Sol Ruca have united.
Those teams, in addition to Meta-Four, Fatal Influence, Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez, and the duo of Carlee Bright and Kendal Grey, among others, make for a stacked division. These are clear signs that there is a renewed focus on women's tag team wrestling, which should mean the coveted NXT Women's Tag Team Titles will return soon.
#2. The Tribal Chief Championship has been rumored
The Bloodline saga has been the biggest storyline in WWE history and the most effective long-term angle in pro wrestling. For over four years now, the ongoing storyline has elevated numerous stars with Roman Reigns and the Anoa'i family being the focal point.
In an interesting twist, reports have recently come out indicating that a title exclusive to The Bloodline saga could soon be introduced. The belt is rumored to be the Tribal Chief Championship and could be introduced as soon as the January 6 Netflix premiere of Monday Night RAW.
That event will host the highly anticipated match between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. The two will battle in Tribal Combat with the rest of The Bloodline meant to stay away from the bout. The winner receiving, what could be, an unofficial title could be a big deal if Triple H and WWE present it correctly.
#1. WWE could launch NXT Europe and create the NXT European Championship
While WWE has three separate brands with RAW, SmackDown, and NXT, it wasn't all that long ago when the Sports Entertainment juggernaut actually had five. At one point they also had 205 Live and NXT UK. Unfortunately, both shows have been discontinued.
In the case of NXT UK, Triple H and WWE promised NXT Europe would arrive in place of the British brand. While that seemed to be the plan, Vince McMahon's return and subsequent attempt to sell the company led to TKO taking over. There have been no updates on NXT Europe since then.
Come 2025, that could finally change. With WWE's relationship with Netflix leading to more eyeballs internationally than perhaps ever before, now is the time to finally launch a fourth brand and get it started.
With NXT Europe's potential launch, a title is necessary. Triple H could introduce the NXT European Championship, which would be the top title on the brand. Who knows, depending on the time of the year this happens, a Women's NXT European Championship could also follow before 2025 concludes, but that might not happen until 2026 even under the most optimistic eye.
