The 'Heart Break Kid' Shawn Michaels has left the building

It was the 28th of March 2010. A man was slowly crawling up, using his opponent’s legs. His body had all but given up, but his mind was still ready for battle. In one last act of defiance, Shawn Michaels looked his opponent in the eye, and slapped him, as if telling him “ If I am going down, I am going down defiantly."

His opponent, responding to the name of The Undertaker, caught Michaels and delivered perhaps the most thunderous tombstone of his career, and three seconds later, the 25-year fabled career of ‘The Heart Break Kid’ drew to a close.

It was then, that something else happened. In a rare occurrence, The Undertaker broke character, lifted the battered and defeated Michaels, and hugged him, as a mark of respect to one of the greatest Superstars in WWE history.

The fans were on their feet, to salute the man who had entertained them, and provided them innumerable moments to cherish.

‘The Heart Break Kid’ Shawn Michaels had indeed ‘left the building’.
