Shelton Benjamin is able to perform at an elite level, irrespective of his age. Benjamin returned to SmackDown last year in August after a shoulder injury halted his initial much-hyped return. After a mildly successful tag-team run with Chad Gable from August to April, Benjamin has seldom appeared on television.

Benjamin is capable of reaching incredible heights, he had considerable success in his first run with WWE, becoming a multi-time US Champion. Benjamin was the highlight reel of the first few Money in the bank matches and his crazy stunts were amazing to watch.

The last time Benjamin competed on SmackDown was in a losing effort to Jeff Hardy on the go-home show before SummerSlam.
