Kevin Owens was supposed to have a rematch with Randy Orton at Survivor Series: WarGames, after the chaotic scenes even before their match started at Crown Jewel. However, The Viper has been ruled out indefinitely, following a Piledriver from KO last Friday on SmackDown.
With the 14-time world champion reportedly set to miss an extended time out, Kevin Owens, who had a heel turn at Bad Blood, needs an opponent for Survivor Series: WarGames. And with that in mind, we take a look at three potential opponents for the former Universal Champion.
#3. Nick Aldis could return to action to face Kevin Owens at Survivor Series: WarGames
See who is stunned by Hulk Hogan's words HERE
It has been more than a year since Nick Aldis became the GM of SmackDown and hasn't wrestled since then. The WWE executive, though, has teased a return to the ring lately, even though the expectation was that this would happen in a match against RAW GM Adam Pearce.
However, Nick Aldis could emerge as the next opponent for Kevin Owens, if the latter puts his hands on him. The SmackDown GM is expected to confront KO for his assault on Randy Orton, leading to a physical altercation between the two and potentially a match at Survivor Series: WarGames.
#2. Cody Rhodes could seek revenge for his good friend and mentor Randy Orton
Cody Rhodes was by Randy Orton's side when the latter was taken to a local hospital after Kevin Owens' assault. The American Nightmare could step up and go after KO, seeking revenge for his good friend and mentor.
The Undisputed WWE Champion and KO have unfinished business from Bash in Berlin and Bad Blood, so a title match could become official for Survivor Series: WarGames, where Nick Aldis could also add a stipulation, making it an Extreme Rules Match.
Cody Rhodes and KO collided previously at Bash in Berlin, where the former retained his title, while Kevin Owens assaulted The American Nightmare backstage after Bad Blood, as the latter aligned with Roman Reigns to defeat Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.
#1. Join Solo Sikoa and Bloodline 2.0 as the 5th member
For this to happen, Cody Rhodes will need to be revealed as the fifth member of the OG Bloodline at Survivor Series: WarGames. Rhodes has the respect of Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso, while he is good friends with Jey Uso and Sami Zayn.
Thus, it wouldn't be a surprise if he was revealed as the final member of the team, and on this occasion, KO would demand to join Solo Sikoa and the rest of the new Bloodline, aiming to put his hands not only on Cody Rhodes but Roman Reigns as well.
Reigns and Owens have unfinished business from when the Original Tribal Chief was the world champion and KO attempted to dethrone him. This addition to the Bloodline civil war would make sense for the creative team, since Cody Rhodes is the top face in WWE, while the former world champion has done a great job as a heel.
That said, the upcoming Friday night's episode of SmackDown will shed more light on what is next for Kevin Owens after his assault on Randy Orton.
