The WWE has been utilizing Shane McMahon quite smartly and has been using his presence to give a push to some of the other stars who were slowing floating into the mid-card. Stars like Elias and The Revival have been given more air-time, which was used by The Miz as a punch-line in his recent promo, but not all members of the WWE Universe are pleased with this.
McMahon and his friends been going to-and-fro with Roman Reigns in recent times, and though it seems to be a good rivalry, they are stretching it a bit too long already. It may end with McIntyre’s upcoming match against Reigns at Stomping Grounds, with the recent promo on SmackDown Live by The Miz suggesting that he would be having a go back at Shane soon.
With that being said, the writers and management now need to end the Reigns-Shane rivalry well and not keep any loose-ends, as it then becomes quite repetitive.
Here are three ways that this rivalry could possibly end, with the company looking to move forward with these stars into newer storylines.
#3 Another Screw-Job

Shane is already trying to showcase his authority since turning heel and the WWE’s ratings aren’t doing too well in recent times. The WWE needs something to really get things going. Though these matches are drawing crowds, the company is looking for a spark to make things happen.
Controversy sells and the company can at present do with some of it and such a thing can actually work in bringing the ratings up and getting the fans all buzzing. It would also give Shane a lot of heat, just like his father once had during the Attitude Era, and cement him as a strong heel for the months to follow, which can lead to many potential storylines.
The match between Drew and Roman might be restarted, more stipulations added, or the decision reversed based on what Shane suggests at the end of it. This may not go down well with the Big Dog, but they may beat him up again and leave him battered, suggesting that they are totally done with this rivalry, with The Miz coming in late and failing to help Roman.
#2 Roman Beats McIntyre, Miz Takes Over

As suggested by his promo on SmackDown Live, The Miz would have to deal with the Shane problem himself and can’t rely on anyone else to get the job done. This could mean that though Roman may win the match at Stomping Grounds, the spotlight may eventually shift back to The Must-See Superstar in terms of continuing this rivalry going ahead.
The rivalry between the two has been quite personal, with Shane still taking digs at Miz’s dad and calling him “a potato”. This has not gone down well with him and he may interfere in the match between Drew and Roman as well.
The WWE Universe will be hoping that The Miz once again loses it and goes berserk and attacks the trio of Shane, McIntyre, and Elias, like Seth has been doing on RAW. SmackDown Live needs a boost as well, as it will be heading to the FOX Network soon, and it could be the time for some more Miz and Miz TV in the future.
#1 Extreme Rules Match

Despite the WWE Universe not being too keen on making this rivalry going on, the writers may have something else on their mind and they may actually push for another match at the upcoming pay-per-view Extreme Rules. It could possibly be an Extreme Rules Match that may see Roman go head-to-head with either member of their so-called trio and take out that superstar.
Roman Reigns is still the face of the blue brand at present and can once again have some great matches at these upcoming pay-per-views, though it would just over-do the rivalry a bit longer. The fans are hoping for something fresh, but that does not really seem to be the case with WWE’s overall product.
So, unless the company adds something spectacular to this match, it will rather be just boring and the fans may start actually booing Reigns once again. His applause has also gone down since his first return to the company, and if the storylines are as similar to one-another like they have been so far, the support from the fans will surely die down soon.
