Cody Rhodes will put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line at SummerSlam when he collides with the new leader of The Bloodline and the new Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa. The match became official on Wednesday and the two superstars will face each other in Cleveland, Ohio on August 3, in the main event of the show.
Their feud has been going on for weeks now and intensified after the last two premium live events (Clash at the Castle and Money in the Bank) and now seems all set to reach its peak.
Solo Sikoa has got the upper hand lately, but Cody Rhodes remains the favorite to win and retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. With that in mind, let's take a look at three possible finishes for the match at WWE SummerSlam.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#3. Cody Rhodes gets a clean victory and retains the title
It is not the most likely scenario, but not something one shouldn't rule out. Solo Sikoa has made a couple of big-time statements, especially after the addition of Jacob Fatu, but Rhodes is the champion and the top babyface in WWE.
It wouldn't make much sense for WWE to have The American Nightmare lose the title just four months after WrestleMania 40, where he did his best to finish his story. Thus, what fans could expect is a dominant performance from Cody, which would help him remain the Undisputed WWE Champion.
#2. The Bloodline, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton interfere; match becomes No Disqualification
Fans should expect this to probably happen after everything that has taken place over the past few weeks. The Bloodline has played the numbers game and has dominated Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton on several occasions.
So, it wouldn't make much sense if all these superstars don't interfere in the main event. In that scenario, the match would become No Disqualification, where Rhodes could prevail.
#1. Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso return to distract Solo Sikoa and cost him the title
Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso are expected to make their return at SummerSlam after four months off. The former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion has been out since WrestleMania 40, where he lost his title to Cody Rhodes. Meanwhile, Jimmy Uso was reportedly dealing with an injury, but he is now medically cleared to compete.
Jimmy Uso will be out for revenge, as Solo assaulted him after 'Mania, and kicked him out of the faction, and the former tag team champion has been off TV since then.
As for Roman Reigns, he will have his sights set on Solo Sikoa after the latter declared himself the new Tribal Chief, replacing Reigns. Thus, many expect Reigns to turn babyface and collide with Solo for The Bloodline's leadership.
WWE also purportedly has plans to start a civil war storyline with The Bloodline, which will feature not only the newest members of the faction, namely Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu, but The Usos as well.
With their match now official, fans will be waiting to see what will happen this Friday night on WWE SmackDown when Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa come face to face again.
