Friday Night SmackDown has been one of WWE's flagship shows for the longest time. In recent memory, the blue brand has performed exceedingly well and is home to some of the company's biggest stars, like Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and the Original Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.
While the brand has provided fans with a lot of entertainment in 2024 and has a lot to celebrate, the year is extra special as it marks the 25th anniversary of SmackDown. However, the burning question is when will the 25th anniversary episode take place?
In this article, we will look at three reasons why the 25th anniversary edition of SmackDown should take place on October 4, 2024:

The October 4 edition of SmackDown is the go-home show for Bad Blood
In October, WWE fans will be gearing up for the return of a major premium live event for the first time since 2004, and that PLE is Bad Blood. While the event will feature big matches with exciting rivalries, the hype on SamckDown before Bad Blood will be insane.
This is where WWE could capitalize on the hype by hosting their 25th-anniversary edition of the blue brand. Since the episode would be so close to Bad Blood, the promotion could also get some mega stars to make appearances.
#2. The anniversary show is due a long time
While WWE had the opportunity to do the 25th anniversary episode of SmackDown in the last week of August and September, they chose not to. The reason behind this could be the brand moving to the USA Network on September 13.
If that's the reason, it's a good one because once SmackDown goes to USA Network, the company can allow the next few episodes of the Friday Night Show to build storylines. These storylines could further boil on the potential 25th-anniversary edition of the brand on October 4, which will also be interesting to watch.
#1. Waiting for Bad Blood to finish would not be ideal
If WWE is waiting for the 25th-anniversary episode to be done after the Bad Blood Premium Live Event, then it probably won't be the best idea. Post Bad Blood, WWE will be much more story-driven since the promotion will be heading towards Survivor Series 2024.
Many superstars will be involved in the Road to Survivor Series, and this could impact the 25th-anniversary episode if it's held after Bad Blood. Hence, it's in WWE's best interest to have the show done on October 4.
