The rubber match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will take place at the Bad Blood Premium Live Event in October. On RAW's latest episode, General Manager Adam Pearce announced that Punk and McIntyre would face each other in a Hell in a Cell match at the PLE in Atlanta, Georgia.
Since this announcement, there has been a lot of talk on social media about who will win this rubber match. While the WWE Universe is divided in their answers, we will look at some reasons why Punk must end his rivalry with McIntyre with a win at the Bad Blood PLE.
#3. CM Punk can put a complete end to his rivalry with Drew McIntyre
Meet John Cena's dad HERE
After Punk defeated McIntyre in a Strap Match at Bash in Berlin, The Best in the World thought his rivalry with the Scotsman came to an end. Punk was also looking to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship, but McIntyre attacked him on RAW last week, signaling that things are not over.
However, Punk can put a permanent end to the rivalry with a win at Bad Blood. Even though McIntyre is a heel, he has always tried his best to be honorable. Hence, if McIntyre is defeated in a rubber match, he won't be pursuing Punk, which will allow the latter to go after the World Heavyweight Championship.
#2. To make CM Punk look formidable if he faces Gunther
As mentioned above, after CM Punk's match against Drew McIntyre ended at SummerSlam, he immediately expressed his desire to fight for the World Heavyweight Championship. This means that once his rivalry with the Scotsman is done, Punk will be pursuing the World Title.
A victory over McIntyre will make Punk look like a formidable challenger, which in turn will make the rivalry with Gunther interesting. Also, winning his first feud since returning to WWE will be something the Best in the World would want, too.
#1. If CM Punk loses, he won't have anything left
The one thing CM Punk has been able to do since returning to WWE is maintain his hype. Even though Punk lost to McIntyre in their first outing at WWE SummerSlam, the Chicago native was able to make a comeback with a victory at Bash in Berlin.
However, if Punk loses the rubber match to the former WWE Champion, he might have nothing else to pursue. If he loses, Punk will not get the World Title opportunity he desires, and nor will his feud with someone like Seth Rollins seem interesting. These are some reasons Punk must win at the Bad Blood PLE.
