Cody Rhodes has been doing a great job as the Undisputed WWE Champion since he claimed the title at WrestleMania 40 after defeating Roman Reigns. He has successfully defended his title on three occasions and is preparing for his next challenge at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, which will take place in Toronto, Canada, on Saturday, July 6.
After finishing his story and becoming a champion, The American Nightmare has a target on his back, and more superstars can emerge as his challengers going forward. After what happened at Clash at the Castle, Solo Sikoa is expected to be next in line for the title.
With that in mind, we take a look at three reasons why Cody Rhodes needs to be careful going forward.
A female WWE star said her life is in danger. Details HERE
#3. Kevin Owens can turn on him
Kevin Owens has been a babyface for a very long time, and during this time, he has battled The Bloodline on several occasions. In some of them, he has emerged victorious, while in most of them, The Bloodline has defeated him.
KO continues to fight the faction despite the changes that took place after WrestleMania 40 when Solo Sikoa took over and brought in Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.
Even though he remains a babyface, he can have a heel turn if he continues to lose to The Bloodline and turn on Cody Rhodes instead.
#2. Randy Orton has eyes on the Undisputed WWE Championship
Randy Orton came back to the company last year to take revenge on The Bloodline and become champion again. So far, he has failed to do so, but he continues to have his sights set on the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Orton and Rhodes have a great relationship and are considered best friends, while the reigning champion has called The Viper his mentor. Like Kevin Owens, though, Randy Orton has been a babyface for way too long, and a heel turn could happen at any time.
KO and Orton have worked together against The Bloodline, but they have been unsuccessful so far. Thus, a heel turn could be in the works, and if it happened, it would lead to The Viper getting a title shot against Cody Rhodes.
#1. The Bloodline could injure Cody Rhodes
As we said, Solo Sikoa is expected to be the next challenger to Cody Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Championship after he attacked him at Clash at the Castle: Scotland. Following Rhodes' win over AJ Styles, Sikoa, Tonga, and Loa came to the ring and assaulted him before Kevin Owens and Randy Orton came to the aid of The American Nightmare to even the odds.
Thus, fans can expect The Bloodline to continue targeting Cody Rhodes as we head to the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, with Sikoa trying to take advantage of the numbers game.
With that in mind, Rhodes has to be careful to avoid any injuries, while it wouldn't come as a surprise if Randy Orton and Kevin Owens were in his corner in the title match.
