The upcoming season premiere of SmackDown will witness Solo Sikoa challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Steel Cage Match. This high-stakes match will be the second time Sikoa will challenge Rhodes after failing to beat The American Nightmare at SummerSlam this year.
Given that this will be Sikoa's second attempt, many believe he could surprise the WWE Universe and beat Rhodes to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, this is something that must not happen.
In this article, we will look at three reasons why the leader of The Bloodline must not beat Cody Rhodes on SmackDown.
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
#3 It does not look like Solo Sikoa is ready
Since taking over the leadership of The Bloodline after WrestleMania 40, Sikoa has done very well to captivate the audience. As a heel, the 31-year-old has managed to generate heat, which proves he is doing things correctly. However, is Solo Sikoa ready to become a world champion?
The answer to this question is most likely no. Until now, Sikoa has only won the NXT North American Championship. He has never won a title on the main roster, and hence, handing him a world title without any subsequent experience would be very risky for WWE.
#2 The rivalry with Roman Reigns will go for a toss
Although Solo Sikoa will be facing Cody Rhodes on SmackDown, one must not forget he is involved in a fierce rivalry with Roman Reigns. If Sikoa beats The American Nightmare for the title, his rivalry with The Original Tribal Chief will most likely go for a toss.
Assuming The Bloodline leader wins on Friday, he will most likely be involved in a long feud and a rematch with Rhodes. This scenario would then delay or rather derail Sikoa's rivalry with Reigns, and that's something WWE and its fans wouldn't want.
#1 Cody Rhodes needs to have a long title run
While there are enough reasons why Solo Sikoa should not win on Friday, the biggest reason he should not reign supreme is for Cody Rhodes to have a longer run as champion. Anyone who has followed Rhodes' journey knows the hardships and troubles he faced in becoming a champion.
After all this, if Rhodes ends up losing on SmackDown, what will be left of his superstardom? If anything, The American Nightmare must have a long title run with great title defenses that will establish him as the face of WWE and help him become a future Hall of Fame candidate.
