The go-home episode of WWE SmackDown for SummerSlam 2024 ended with a surprising twist as The Bloodline emerged as the new WWE Tag Team Champions. This title change stunned the WWE Universe, who were expecting an interference, possibly from Jimmy Uso, to cost The Bloodline the match. However, this scenario did not materialize, and Bloodline captured the gold, largely due to their advantage in numbers.

In this article, we will discuss why Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga won the Tag Team Titles just a few hours before the Biggest Party of the Summer.

#3. The Bloodline could be walking out with all the gold at SummerSlam

Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.

Jacob and Tama's victory on the recent SmackDown suggests that WWE might be planning for The Bloodline to hold all the titles at SummerSlam. Solo Sikoa hinted at this when he vowed to bring all the gold back to the faction, starting with the Tag Team Championship. Now that the Tag Team Titles are secured, the self-proclaimed Tribal Chief will strive to become the Undisputed WWE Champion.

With the faction winning the Tag Team gold, the possibility of The Bloodline holding all the titles at SummerSlam 2024 seems realistic. This could very well explain the title change on the recent SmackDown.

#2. To put Solo Sikoa's Bloodline in a strong position ahead of Roman Reigns return

Roman Reigns is expected to make his long-awaited arrival at SummerSlam 2024. The Head of the Table is anticipated to initiate his rivalry with Solo Sikoa, potentially leading to a civil war among Bloodline members. However, the victory of Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu will solidify the position of Solo Sikoa's Bloodline and put him in a strong position.

These Tag Team Titles prove that the new version of the faction also can emerge as champions on their first attempt. This aids WWE in positioning them as strong contenders during The Bloodline Civil War.

#1. To elevate Jacob Fatu's status in WWE

Since his debut, Jacob Fatu has been portrayed as a dominant force in the Stamford-based promotion. We've already seen Jacob take on multiple stars single-handedly. His Tag Team Championship victory has certainly elevated the Samoan Werewolf’s status in the company, especially after he took out Johnny Gargano at the final moment of the match and pinned him to become champion.

This highlights Jacob’s ability to win the Tag Team titles on his own, even as Tama Tonga was taken out during the conclusion of the match. Moreover, in a very short time, Fatu won his first WWE championship, reflecting Triple H's confidence in him.
