3 reasons why The Rock must stay away from WWE SummerSlam

Perhaps one of the biggest talking points for WWE this year was the return of The Rock. The People's Champ made an emphatic comeback to the squared circle, but not as the beloved babyface we all know and love. No, this time around, he portrayed the role of The Final Boss.

As The Final Boss, The Rock had one goal: prevent Cody Rhodes from finishing his story. Although he ultimately failed, he made one thing clear to The American Nightmare, their story is far from over. After he made his point, The People's Champ rode off into the sunset, promising he would be back.

It has been a few months since The Rock made that statement, and some members of the WWE Universe are restless. The question now is, when will he return? While the answer is still not clear, one thing is for sure, it shouldn't be at SummerSlam, and here is why.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

#3. Roman Reigns needs to return at SummerSlam without being overshadowed

The prevailing theory right now is that there will be a huge return at SummerSlam, but not The Rock's. The rumor mill is rife with reports suggesting that his cousin, Roman Reigns could appear at The Biggest Party of the Summer for the first time since WrestleMania 40. If this proves to be the case, having The Brahma Bull return on the same night might be overkill.

Furthermore, it will likely overshadow Reigns' own return, or at the very least, take something away from it. WWE would be wise to steer clear of that and keep Rocky's return for a later date.

#2. Solo Sikoa may end up looking like nothing more than a pawn

Another theory that has been floating around the internet is that The Rock is the mastermind behind Solo Sikoa. As things stand, The Street Champion is portraying himself as the new Tribal Chief. However, some believe that it's actually The Final Boss who is pulling the strings. Of course, this may be revealed in due time, but it certainly should not be at SummerSlam.

Should The Rock return at SummerSlam and reveal himself as the real leader of the new Bloodline, it will completely derail all the work WWE has done so far. This includes building up Sikoa as a major superstar and establishing him as a real threat to Roman Reigns.

#1. The Rock should return at Bad Blood and destroy Cody Rhodes

As mentioned earlier, when The Rock comes back his target is Cody Rhodes. When last they spoke, he seemed intent on taking the Undisputed WWE Championship. If he returns at SummerSlam along with Roman Reigns and with Solo Sikoa there, such a challenge would lose all meaning. As such, he should instead make his return at Bad Blood and target Rhodes instead.

Not only is the name more fitting for what is to come between The American Nightmare and The Final Boss, but it is also in Atlanta, Georgia. What better place to come back and destroy Cody Rhodes, than in his hometown? Such a moment would set the precedent for the rivalry, and make it that much more entertaining.
