Drew McIntyre's agenda for the next few days has become clear. Win Money in the Bank, cash in, and become World Heavyweight Champion. A basic plan, but one that he was forced to implement following the debacle that was Clash at Castle. Nonetheless, The Scottish Warrior remains steadfast in his desire to return to WWE's top tier.
Following last week's episode of RAW, Drew McIntyre became the final contestant to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match. And, given his reputation, it is unsurprising to learn that many have labeled him the favorite to win the briefcase. Yet, given all factors, could it potentially be a misstep for Triple H to let the 39-year-old emerge victorious?
Taking a look at the grand scheme of things, it might be in The Game's best interest to book another winner. And, here are three reasons why:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#3. Drew McIntyre does not need the Mr. Money in the Bank briefcase
A quick look through WWE's roster will tell you that Drew McIntyre is one of the company's top talents. Having spent 23 years honing his craft, the 39-year-old is at the very precipice of the pro wrestling business. He has won everything on offer, and this is especially true in the Stamford-based promotion, where he is a seven-time WWE champion.
With that in mind, giving the briefcase to the Scotsman seems redundant. His accomplishments within the boundaries of the squared circle speak for themselves. So, would making him Mr. Money in the Bank do anything to enrich his already incredible career?
#2. McIntyre's rivalry with CM Punk would become too complicated
The hot topic surrounding Drew McIntyre right now is his feud with CM Punk. In the last few weeks, things have gotten out of hand between the two, to the point where Punk was left in a heap following a brutal McIntyre attack.
There is now a noticeable level of hostility between the two, and the question arises: Would the Money in the Bank briefcase add anything to that?
Throwing the Money in the Bank briefcase into this heated atmosphere would only make things more complicated. It would reach a stage where McIntyre has to worry both about the briefcase and Punk at the same time. As such, it would be better to not have him win it at all.
#1. Triple H should hand the briefcase to a superstar who would benefit from it
Although McIntyre is regarded as the front-runner for the ladder match, as was previously established, there are other wrestlers who stand to earn more from the outcome. Come July 7, 2024, McIntyre will share the ring with some of the best talent on offer. Chad Gable, Jey Uso, LA Knight, Andrade, and Carmelo Hayes will all be vying for the same title as him, the title of Mr. Money in the Bank.
Any one of these superstars would benefit greatly with the briefcase in their hands. This is especially true for the likes of Gable, Uso, and Knight, who have yet to win their first singles title in WWE. So, perhaps Triple H should consider handing them the briefcase instead.
