The Raw episode after WrestleMania is always something to look forward to as it is almost always the beginning of new things. At WrestleMania, 7 titles changed hands, so it is a testament that new things are about to happen.
Monday Night Raw had some great moments. Elias was interrupted by The Undertaker, who was absent during WrestleMania 35. Sami Zayn also returned from injury after a long time.
However, the segment that stole the show was the New Day interrupting Seth Rollins, who began the show to address the WWE Universe following his epic win against Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Universal Title.
Kofi Kingston challenged Rollins to a winner-takes-all title match, which was, however, interrupted by The Bar, resulting in a disqualification - which meant that the titles didn’t change hands
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
I, for one, would have loved it had the match not been interrupted and Kofi winning against Seth to carry both the titles – and here are three reasons why that should have happened.
#3 KofiMania in full force
WrestleMania 35 might be over but KofiMania is still alive and kicking. The fans are still in awe of the Superstar who won his first ever WWE Title against Daniel Bryan at the Show of Shows.
As Seth Rollins was being cheered during his victory speed on Raw, the fans went crazy when New Day’s music hit. They began chanting ‘Kofi! Kofi!’ as he was making his way to the ring alongside his New Day brothers.
This is a testament to how over he is with the fans right now. Rollins is also a babyface but all the cheers for him disappeared the moment Kingston appeared – which is a telling testament to the fact that the KofiMania could have peaked even more with the Universal Title.
#2 More merchandise sales
WWE played a beautiful marketing strategy with Kofi Kingston. One of the biggest reasons for the existence of New Day is the revenue generated from their merchandise. In fact, they are the fifth highest merchandise seller in the company.
As a result, WWE knew the potential of sales that could happen if Kingston won the title. So, not only did he win the title against Daniel Bryan, they actually endorsed a new Kofi Kingston New Day t-shirt with the WWE Championship right after the Ghanian won the title.

It was a masterstroke from WWE as it is almost guaranteed to make the sales go through the roof. This could have been further peaked had Kofi Kingston won the Universal Title from Seth Rollins as more merchandise could have been made out of it and that could have resulted in more sales for the WWE.
It seems like they might have missed a trick here to rise their spot from 5th to maybe even 1st.
#1 He deserves it
When Seth Rollins was addressing the WWE Universe with the Universal Title on his shoulders, the spectators started chanting ‘You deserve it!’ – and they were 100% right.
In fact, Seth Rollins is one of the very few stars who deserve to have both the Universal and WWE Titles on his shoulders. However, if there is another person who deserves it more, it is Kofi Kingston.

This is a man who has been with the WWE for 11 years and has been a great source of entertainment to the fans. When people said that he was too hilarious to be taken seriously, he showed just how ruthless he could be both in 2009 against Randy Orton and then now in 2019 against Daniel Bryan.
He has worked hard and reinvented himself many times over his career with WWE and he deserves to have all the good things that the company has to offer.
